Isaac turns 6

This year was Isaac's golden birthday.  He turned 6 years old on June 6.  He wanted a chocolate chip cookie cake to celebrate.

And a bowling party

with his best little buddies.

Making a wish

And a stop at UDF.  Where they decided their cones looked like the Statue of Liberty's torch.  Speaking of torches - one of these kids may or may not have called 911 from a pay phone while they were eating their ice-cream.  Just maybe.

To end the day he chose his favorite restaurant for dinner.  He had been planning this for months and Skyline was an easy first choice.  I can't believe my baby is 6.

Camping Cave Run Lake 2013

Cave Run Lake is our very favorite place to camp!  We had been counting down the days till school was out so we could pack up and head out.

Heading to our campsite.  Can you hear the music in this picture?  It was turned up pretty loud!

Crossing the state line

Yes, we are in the country!

Home Sweet Home-away-from-home

A little boating

A little swimming

a little fishing

a few critters

Our little wilderness family

I snapped this pic while I was setting the camera up for our family pic above.  I just love everything about it.  Caleb with his Kentucky Ale 8 chillaxing in his camp chair, Ella with her butterfly net, Isaac with his fishing pole, and Abby with her basket ball, and don't even get me started on that guy with the ax!

All 8 of us sitting down to eat dinner.  Grammy is the best camp cook ever :)

Celebrating Grammy's birthday at chickabiddy's.  You should try it!  Yum!

That smile!  That hair!

Walking the trails

Scenes from our campsite

And packing up - until next year.

A few moments I want to remember forever

A few pictures from Spring that I don't want to forget.
Mother's Day 2013.  Being a mom is my favorite job. Ever!

The balancing beam.

Our rhododendrons in full bloom.

He loves to direct Carl backing the truck hitch up to the trailer.  And he nails it every time!

Cuteness overload! I mean, check out that koolaid mustache!

Springtime, sweetness and a scooter.  And a stop sign!

I have a zillion pictures of Caleb making some version of this face.

So I was thrilled when I got this shot :)

Did I mention cuteness?

End of school days

This is Marian Anderson, the first african-american to sing at the White House.

Ella's class did a wax museum this year and she was the singer, Marian Anderson.
She did all her research and then memorized her little speech

to recite when the "crowds" came by her "wax" figure at the museum and

pushed an imaginary button to activate her character.

Abby's class also did a wax museum.  Abby was zoologist, Dian Fosser,  who studied apes.

3rd grade field day.  Abby and Ella have both won the hula-hoop contest in 3rd grade.  Why, oh why can't I hula-hoop?

And last day of school party.  Wow, I'm glad school is out for the summer!
