I made bread

Sourdough bread from scratch. Flour, oil, salt, raise, make loaves, raise, bake, taste! I ate 3 slices right out of the oven slathered in butter....MMmmmm!
My sourdough starter came from Karen Mills. I had to have it after Caleb spent the day with Tyler. Caleb came home and told me Tyler's Mom's bread was "heavenly!"

Lovin' my EAT letters from Deanna all the way from N. Ireland. They rock my kitchen. Love them! And yes, these pics are totally staged. My kitchen did not look like this when I took the bread out of the oven!

Abby made her own Salt Dough with a recipe from school. She had so much fun making it all by herself in the kitchen. If you want the recipe, get a copy of the CNC church book. It will be in there.

So there's 2 things checked off My 35 List :)

Happy Note - Sad Note

I love birthdays :) He took me........

Here for my birthday dinner, while..........

these fantastic friends babysat our kids.

On a sad note--my brother is moving today. For the last several years he has lived here in Cincinnati. Although, lately we haven't seen much of each other, it has been so good to know he's close by. I will miss him :(

And my kids will miss their Uncle Robbie

He is moving to Baltimore, Md. with his new job. Isn't Maryland beautiful?! I was born in Maryland so maybe I'm a little biased:)

Birthday Fun

I celebrated my birthday yesterday. Chilled out at home with my sick little boy. Abby wasn't feeling well, so she stayed home from school too.
Carl made my day and met me at the door with this---Yummy! My favorite!

I had an early B-day celebration with Steph & Janella when Stephanie was in town :)

And while I'm on the subject of girlfriends....

I got to see all 3 of my best friends over Christmas. Deanna was in town from N. Ireland for the holidays. And Stephanie flew in from Idaho just to surprise us and spend the day with us. We shopped and ate and enjoyed the now-rare treat of spending time together. Love these girls!

Birthday Cake

Abby requested a Webkinz poodle cake. She has a pink poodle webkinz whose name is "Icing." She picked out a cherry chip cake mix at Krogers. I made it substituting 1/2 milk for the water and butter for the oil. I used cream cheese filling in the middle and buttercream frosting for the top. Pretty yummy for a cake mix!

Birthday Girl

Eight years ago I held this beautiful bundle of joy in my arms.
Abigail Leanne.
Abigail means "joy of her father" and her middle name Leanne is a combination of both of her grandmother's middle names, Lee and Ann.
She loves to sing, read, write, draw, and she loves to learn. She is an excellent big sister and a huge helper. She loves Jesus and has a tender heart. She is sweet and thoughtful and always ready to help. She is also our "drama queen." She has her Daddy's good looks and her Mommy's eyes.
