Birthdays & Bookshelves

Happy Birthday to my niece, Brooklyn! She celebrated her 5th birthday this past weekend. Our kids were so excited to be at her birthday party.

I showed my Dad these bookshelves in a catalog a couple weeks ago.

And this is what he came up with.

Thanks, Dad! I love them :)

They look perfect in the boy's bedroom!

The highlights of my week were a holiday, a snowday, a 90-minute delay, a relaxing dinner out with my husband and good friends (no highchairs, no spills), a trip to the mall, a night out with my husband, seeing my sister, dinner at my parents, and having my kids back home again. I have so much to be thankful for!

Happy Snow!

Our kids are away at my parents for the long weekend so Carl & I have really enjoyed our quiet Valentine's weekend ;) We have had so much fun sledding and playing in the snow this year. We are getting up to 9 more inches today!
Brrrrr!

Abby helped shovel the driveway :)

This boy is the snowball machine!

The kids had a couple snow days last week so the girls and I made stained-glass valentine hearts.

They sharpened crayons in a pencil sharpener till we had a pile of crayon shavings.
Then we put the crayon shavings between 2 sheets of wax paper.

And ironed the wax paper just till the crayon shavings melt.
Cut out the hearts and hang in the window. So pretty!

Abby's valentine box she decorated for school.

Ella all ready for her Valentine's party with her heart tights.

I'm enjoying my snow day, hope you do too!

Enjoying the little moments this week

Playing Thomas the train. ("mommy, help me build my track-tr")

A special PB sandwich when Ella got off the bus

Caleb and another round of SuperSmashBrothers

He is usually a blur of motion when he plays, this pic must have been between levels :)

The girls coloring and making important phone calls

My goodwill finds this week

I love globes!

And cute, polka-dotted, vintagey, cardboard suitcases

And, I love my country! Hope you enjoyed the little moments in your life this week!
