sad news - happy news

Wow! 3 posts in one week! What is my life coming to?! Just wanted to post a few pictures and share some moments. My dear friend, Deanna, left for Ireland this morning. I miss her already. She is truly a once in a lifetime kind of friend. The "girls" got together on Wednesday to say goodbye. We went down to Newport on the Levee. It was a memory-making event for sure. I know she will be a wonderful pastor's wife and the people in Ireland are going to love her!

My parents are now homeowners! They closed on their first home yesterday. As you can tell from their faces they are ecstatic! It really is a miracle how everything has worked out. I am sooo excited for them! The house sits on 1 acre and is absolutely perfect for them with a big garage and a barn which my dad will love to tinker around in. It has lots of flower beds which my mom will love. It has a a super-wide sidewalk all the way to the end of the property which the grandkids will love for riding bikes, scooters, and skating. And some big trees which I'm sure one of them will have a treehouse built in it very soon. Congratulations Dad & Mom!! We are so happy for you!

New Look

Please let me know what you think of my new background colors. My old background was the default brown print. I updated my profile and played with the colors a little. Let me know your opinion.

an update

Here's a little about our week. Caleb went to Pennsylvania with Grammy, Michele and Nate for his great-great grandmother's funeral. He had a lot of fun visiting with his 2nd cousins and his great grandparents that he doesn't get to see too often. They went swimming and rode 4-wheelers and played Wii. Stephanie Ryan picked up my girls this week for an all-day playdate. They had so much fun playing with Samantha and Kristen. Stephanie also helped the girls make a couple home-made pizzas and a giant chocolate cookie cake that they brought home with them. It was great to have some time by myself with Isaac and I even squeezed a little shopping trip in! We also went to a little surprise good-bye party for Deanna & Mark. They leave for Ireland on Friday. That's my week in a nutshell! Of course I have to post a picture of Isaac!

Bad Hair Day

I had just gotten the girls out of the tub this morning and was sitting on the floor in their bedroom getting them dressed and combing their hair. I had just combed out and parted Ella's hair when Isaac started crying. I left the room for approximately 2 seconds and when I came back, this is what I found! Help!! Looking on the bright side - I'm sooo glad I had combed out and parted her hair or I'm sure it would look much worse and I'm thankful that she didn't get too close to her scalp so it's not sticking straight up.

On a better note - my parents came down to visit on Thursday and we got this cute picture of the kids all looking at the camera! Smile!!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! I am so blessed to have a wonderful christian father! My dad has lived a life of serving others! He has made many sacrifices for his family and is a Godly example to me. He is a wonderful Grandpa and we love him so much! God has also blessed me with a wonderful father-in-law! Happy Father's Day to both of you!

My week

I am enjoying my baby so much! He has been taking 2-3 hour naps and has slept a 5 hour block almost every night. I'm sure his naps are shorter during the day because he has so many people (Caleb, Abby Ella) "checking" on him. We have had different friends from church bring dinner every night this week. It has been WONDERFUL! We have had lasagna, enchiladas, grilled chicken, pizza spaghetti casserole, ham and fried chicken. And of course all the yummy stuff to go with it and then some amazing desserts! I made my first venture out with 4 kids on Wednesday. Isaac had his one-week checkup and then we went to see a children's comedian/ magician at the library. I still have not braved the grocery store yet. That's my goal for next week. Of course I can't have a blog entry without some pictures! I love taking pictures. Here are some favorites from this past week.

Baby Isaac

The scoop....My contractions started around 1 am Wednesday morning. After timing them for an hour I decided to get up and throw some clothes in the dryer, take a shower, and do a few other last minute things. Well, when I got up and went to the laundry room my water broke! (a first for me) So Carl called his mom who came and stayed with the kids. But, after my water broke my contractions stopped! My Dr. wanted me to go on in to the hospital since my water had already broken. We got there around 3 am. I was still only dilated 2 centimeters. They wanted to start my contractions up again with petossin, but I asked if we could wait to see if they started back on their own(my experience with petossin is just almost NO break between contractions). My Dr. agreed to let me go 4 hours to see if I made any progress. I had a few more contractions and by 8 am I was dilated almost 5 cm. Around 9 am my contractions started getting more regular and closer together and he was born at 10:30 am! I could not believe he weighed 8 lbs!! My biggest baby! He has chubby cheeks and little chubby legs. He LOVES to eat and -so far- is not much of a sleeper, although he did do good last night and I got a 5-hour block of sleep. SMILE! Abby has been a big helper and Caleb and Ella can't get enough of him. He has quite a head full of blonde hair and his eyes look like they are going to be blue, just like his Daddy's. I love his name, Isaac. Isaac was the promised child to Abraham and Sarah in their old age. A promise that seemed impossible to fulfill. But God reminded Sarah " Is anything too hard for God?" His name is a reminder to me that God always keeps his promises!
3 am...Bethesda North here we come!

Soooo glad he's here!

Love at first sight!

My first chubby baby!

Counting Down!

Still waiting! I went to the Dr. again today and I'm now at 2 centimeters, so at least we're moving forward! Here are a few pics of the girls' room. The baby will be sharing our room for a while in a little bedside crib and eventually move into bunkbeds in Caleb's room, but for now I'm using the the girl's room for it's changing table and clothes. The armoire is actually one the girls' have had and I just added a changing pad and little basket for diapers, etc. and the cutest "BABY" sign. I think it turned out really cute! Even though it is a pink room, he kinda has his own little corner.

Carl brought the kids home a tube the other night! They were so excited and ready to go for a ride in the grass! We've had a drop in temperatures the last few days so haven't got to use it yet. Unfortunately, I'm sure I won't be able to try it out on it's maiden voyage.
